Bluegrass Orthopaedics Student-Athletes of the Week
WILMORE, Ky. --- Freshman
Katherine Nova (Women's Tennis) and freshman
Ethan Bonow (Men's Swimming) have been named the Asbury University Athletes of the Week presented by Bluegrass Orthopaedics Sports Medicine.
Katherine Nova | Women's Tennis
Katherine Nova is a freshman from Lexington, Ky., and is pursuing a degree in marketing.
Nova made an immediate impact for Asbury, going 2-0 at No. 1 singles with wins over Greenville and Ohio Northern.
She also partnered with junior
Ariadna Zegarra for a No. 1 doubles victory against Greenville.
" Katherine has been a welcome addition to our team and our practices this year. She has been trained previously by a couple of Asbury Tennis alumni which lucky for us allowed her to be familiar with our program. She works extremely hard in all that she does and I am excited to see what the rest of the season holds for her after such a strong start this past Saturday."

Ethan Bonow | Men's Swimming
Ethan Bonow is a freshman from Crawford, Tx., and is pursuing a degree in business administration.
Bonow set three school-records this weekend at the Liberal Arts Conference Championships.
He wont the Men's 100 Freestyle at 45.21 ( was also a NCAA B cut 44.70 in prelims), the Men's 50 Freestyle, at 20.37 (NCAA B Standard), and the Men's 100 Butterfly at 48.29 (NCAA B standard). Bonow's 100 butterfly time also set a meet record in the event.
"Ethan had a great conference meet. He helped two of our men's relays set new team records (including the oldest men's team relay record on the board), he also set three new individual records in addition to three individual conference titles and 3 NCAA B time standards. His abilities are special but his God-first and team-first attitude make watching Ethan swim a truly memorable experience. I can't wait to watch where the rest of this season goes! "
