WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. --- Asbury men's and women's swimming traveled to Cumberlands University to take on the Patriots in a dual meet. Both the men's and women dropped their Friday night meets.
This meet featured a unique format, concluding with a knockout-style tournament to finish the evening. The knockout portion consisted of a series of 50s of each stroke in a prelims, semifinals, and finals format, with the slowest two swimmers eliminated each round. The event brought high energy and excitement to the pool.
Cumberlands proved to be a challenging opponent, but Asbury put together several strong performances throughout the night. Three Eagles advanced to the final round of the knockout races, and Asbury claimed two event wins in the men's and women's 50 butterfly.

"Tonight was really fun. Our team battled a tough week of training, a long timeline at the meet, and an unfamiliar pool and we competed really well. Cumberlands is a tough matchup for us, but we followed a very fun and entertaining format and we were able to race hard and we really competed well and were able to come away with a couple very exciting victories. Our team was a loud and you could feel the energy on deck, it was a lot of fun and I can't wait to see what we're able to do tomorrow."
Graham Duncan | Asbury Swimming Head Coach
"After a hard week of training our team did an amazing job supporting one another and representing the team well. We are always striving to glorify the Lord and today I really saw it stand out both in and out of the pool!"
