Absher and Gordon Earn Second-Team CCS All-Conference Honors
ATLANTA, Ga.--- The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) recently released their 2025 men's soccer all-conference teams with three AU student-athletes being honored. Freshman exercise science major Tyson Absher and senior sport management major Jon Gordon were recognized as Second-Team recipients. Freshman sport management major Josue Twizere was named to the CCS All-Sportsmanship team.
Absher, a Somerset, Ky., native, earned second-team all-conference honors in his first season at Asbury. The freshman started all 16 games for the Eagles, leading the team and tying for first in the CCS with eight goals. He recorded 38 shots, including 18 on goal, for a .474 shot-on-goal percentage.
Gordon, a Richmond, Ky., native, was named second-team all-conference. The Eagles defender anchored the back line with six clean sheets on the year while also scoring two goals. He tallied fourth in minutes played on the team with 1,081 minutes.
Twizere, a Louisville, Ky., native, was named to the CCS All-Sportsmanship Team, an award that honors one player from each team in the Conference who exudes sportsmanship and honor for the game, while playing at a high level. Josue embodies the mission of Asbury Athletics to serve, train, and compete for the glory of God.
