WIlMORE, Ky. --  The Asbury University swimming teams both defeated Union College on Saturday afternoon at the Luce Center Pool. The men were victorious 165.5 - 91.5 and remain undefeated in head-to-head/ double dual meets this season. The AU women also rolled past the Bulldogs 153-90 to move to 6-2 overall on the year. 

"We had a great outing against Union College today, said Head Coach Alex Keyser. "Our men were able to defeat the defending Appalachian Athletic Conference Champions, which gives us some excitement as we think about our goal of winning the AAC Championship this year. We had some key events that we needed to win the meet and big props to Ronan Passman who stepped up and did exactly that in the 100 Breaststroke and 200 Breaststroke. Trent Holladay has been swimming really well all year and went a season best in the 500 Freestyle and a lifetime best in the 200 Butterfly today. Jacob Taylor has been training really well and had a really good 500 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke. We picked up a few new NAIA A cuts in Tommy Johnson (200 Freestyle), Haden Hebenstreit (200 Backstroke and 400 IM), and Alex Wu (100 Freestyle). I'm really encouraged with how we are looking going into our mid-season meet at Sewanee in two weeks."
 
"The women raced very well today. Hope Clark had a fantastic meet and qualified for NAIA Nationals in the 200 Freestyle. Hannah Springer is continuing to swim really well in the breaststroke events as are Lillie Lewis and Kayla Hubbuch. Kristen Bewley made her debut this season after battling an illness and she had a great performance in the 100 Breaststroke. Izzy Miller continues to improve every meet in the 500 Freestyle and is gaining confidence every time she swims that event. I'm very excited for our girls as we look ahead to our mid-season meet at Sewanee. I'm confident we are going to have a lot of really good swims."
