Kersey, Gassmann, and Smith tabbed CCS Cross Country Runners and Rookie of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. --- The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) announced their weekly awards on Monday afternoon, with Asbury's cross country student-athletes Dan Kersey, Bailey Gassmann, and Noah Smith receiving weekly honors. Kersey was named men's cross country runner of the week, Gassmann was named women's cross country runner of the week, and Smith was named rookie of the week.
Senior intercultural studies major Dan Kersey delivered a record-setting performance at the Panther Prowl Cross Country Classic, breaking the Eagles' school record in the 6K with a time of 20:04. Kersey placed 11th overall in a field of 75 runners, helping Asbury to a fifth-place team finish out of eight programs.
Junior social work / adventure education & leadership double major Bailey Gassmann led the way for the Eagles at the Panther Prowl Cross Country Classic, placing fifth overall in a field of 52 runners. Gassmann covered the 5K course in 19:33 to pace her team's effort.
Freshman exercise science major Noah Smith impressed with a 15th-place finish at the Panther Prowl Cross Country Classic in Owensboro, Ky. Smith completed the 6K course in 20:31.5, placing inside the top 20 of a 75-runner field.
