Gassmann Sibling Duo Highlighted with CCS Weekly Honors
ATLANTA, Ga. --- The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) announced their weekly awards on Monday, with Asbury's Bailey Gassmann and Jesse Gassmann earning honors in cross country. Bailey was tabbed CCS Women's Runner of the Week for the second straight week, while Jesse was named CCS Men's Rookie of the Week.
Junior social work and adventure education and leadership double major Bailey Gassmann, made program history at the Louisville Classic, setting a new school record in the 6K with a time of 23:08.3. She trimmed 11 seconds off the pervious mark held since 2015 and finished 54th out of 416 runners.
Freshman adventure education and leadership major Jesse Gassmann, led the Eagles at the Louisville Classic with a personal-best 8K time of 27:46.4. He placed 50th out of 237 runners in the field.
Asbury will compete in the Maryville Invitational on October 10 at Maryville College.
