RICHMOND, Ky.--- For the second time in the spring season Asbury women's golf took the course, competing in the Alice Lloyd Spring Invitation at the Battlefield Golf Course in Richmond, In.
The two day tournament was powered by Indiana Tech, pulling away with a comfortable tournament win 21 strokes above second place Brescia. The event hosted nine teams overall for the weekend two-day long contest.
After Asbury's solid performance at Cherokee Ridge Golf Club in their first tournament of the spring, the weekend in Richmond did not go as strongly for the Eagles. AU finished in ninth place after two days of battle on the golf course.
In the 2022-2023 campaign Asbury has been highlighted by a second place overall finish in the NCCAA Mideast Regional Tournament in September. Junior
Maddie Heineman has led the way this season for AU, qualifying for the NCCAA National Tournament in the fall and finishing in the top ten in the first tournament of the spring.
"This was not our best weekend and we know that. We plan to use this weekend to help us get better by seeing where we can improve and continuing to believe in what we are capable of. We are very thankful we had the opportunity to compete and will be working toward our next round."
Scott Ferguson | Men's and Women's Golf Head Coach

Asbury will play at Boone Trace in Richmond, Ky., on April 3rd and 4th in the Berea College Invite.
