LAGRANGE, Ga. --- The Asbury women's basketball team (10-10, 8-3 CCS) was edged on the road to LaGrange College (14-7, 10-2 CCS), 76-74, on Saturday afternoon.
LaGrange carried a six-point advantage into halftime, but the Eagles responded with their strongest stretch in the third quarter. Asbury shot 68.8 percent from the field in the period, outscoring the Panthers 28–26 to cut the deficit to just two heading into the final 10 minutes.
The fourth quarter remained a back-and-forth battle, with AU briefly grabbing its largest lead of the game midway through the third. However, LaGrange capitalized at the free-throw line late, converting 7-of-8 attempts in the final quarter to hold off the Eagles' comeback attempt.
