Hansen and Potter Recognized with CCS Weekly Honors
ATLANTA, Ga. --- The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) announced their weekly awards on Monday afternoon, with Asbury softball student-athletes Sidney Hansen and Josie Potter claiming weekly nods. Hansen, a psychology & public relations communications major, earned CCS Pitcher of the Week, while Potter, an accounting major, awarded CCS Rookie of the Week.
Hansen, a Somerset, Ky., native, delivered a dominant outing in the circle to help AU open its weekend series with a victory. SHe tossed five scoreless innings, allowing no earned runs and issuing no walks while striking out two. The junior finished the week with a 0.00 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP across her appearance, guiding the Eagles to a 2-0 start with a steady performance.
Potter, a Pikeville, Tenn., earned her first collegiate victory with a strong five-inning performance in the circle. She allowed just one earned run on three hits, striking out five and issuing only walk. The freshman concluded the outing with a 0.80 WHIP and held opponents to a .181 batting average, helping secure the win.
