Softball Highlighted by CSC Academic All-District; Moffat Academic All-America Finalist
GREENWOOD, Ind.--- The 2025 Academic All-District® Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, included Asbury softball student-athletes Samantha Bottom, Josie Deatherage, Sidney Hansen, Emma Popplewell, and Abigail Moffat.
The CSC Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom.
Abigail Moffat, an AU sophomore equine assisted services major from Carollton, Ga., was donoted as a CSC Academic All-American finalist. Moffat had an outstanding sophomore campaign at shortstop for Asbury with 42 hits and was a scholar-athlete in the classroom.

Emma Popplewell | Sophomore, Elementary Education, INF, Russell Springs, Ky.
To be considered for selection on the Academic All-District Team, student-athletes were required to meet the athletic and academic performance achievements below:
- Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically.
- Student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA.
- Student-athletes must compete in 90% of the school's games or have started in at least 66% of the school's games.
- A pitcher must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.
