Sizemore Earns NCCAA Player of the Week

WILMORE, Ky. --- On Monday afternoon, the National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA) and the Collegiate Conference of the South announced their weekly awards, highlighting Asbury's Emily Sizemore and Anna Hellums. Sizemore, a elementary education major, was named NCCAA and CCS Player of the Week, while Hellums, biology pre-med, was recognized as CCS Rookie of the Week.

Sizemore, a London, Ky., native, delivered a dominant week to lead Asbury to a perfect 3-0 record in CCS play, winning three games in three days at home. She totaled 67 points across the stretch, averaging 22.3 points per game while shooting an efficient 72 percent from the field. 

The junior guard connected on 11-of-18 attempts from beyond the arc (61 percent) and added 17 rebounds, eight assists, and eight steals, impacting the game on both ends of the floor. Sizemore continues to lead the CCS in scoring at 21.0 points per game and currently ranks third in the NCCAA in points per game.

Hellums, a Clarksville, Tenn., native, continued her strong debut campaign, helping Asbury secure a 3-0 week in conference play. Serving as a key contributor off the bench, she totaled 30 points on 60 percent shooting from the field and an impressive 75 percent from three-point range (6-of-8). She also added seven rebounds, six assists, and five steals across the three contests.
