Eagles Force Season-High 34 Turnovers in 90–42 Victory Over Wesleyan

STORY - THE ESSENTIALS
WILMORE, Ky. ---  The Asbury women's basketball team (12-10, 10-3 CCS) forced a season-high 34 turnovers in a win over Wesleyan College (1-16, 1-12 CCS), 90-42, Friday night.

The Eagles seized control in the second quarter, outscoring Wesleyan 34-10 to turn a 20-11 first-quarter advantage into a 54-21 halftime cushion. Asbury forced 34 turnovers in the game and converted them into transition opportunities while steadily pulling away, never trailing after the opening minutes.

Junior guard Emily Sizemore led Asbury's attack with an efficient all-around performance, finishing with a game-high 28 points to go with eight rebounds and five steals in just 21 minutes. Sizemore also added three assists and did not commit a turnover, helping anchor an offense that piled up 19 assists on 35 made field goals. Anna Hellums provided additional firepower with 14 points, including two 3-pointers, while contributing three rebounds and three assists.

From the perimeter, the Eagles were prolific, knocking down 14-of-43 attempts from beyond the arc and shooting 35-of-75 overall from the field. Asbury's long-range rhythm showed early as Sizemore hit a 3-pointer at the 7:03 mark of the first quarter to put the Eagles ahead 7-3 after Wesleyan's Alissa Sandifer opened the scoring with a triple. Hellums added a 3-pointer later in the quarter to stretch the margin to 15-7, and the Eagles never looked back.

Defensively, Asbury's activity overwhelmed Wesleyan for long stretches. The Eagles tallied 23 steals and held Wesleyan to 16-of-58 shooting from the floor, including 6-of-21 from 3-point range. Asbury also owned a 39-35 edge on the glass, with 14 offensive rebounds extending possessions and helping sustain the high-scoring output. Wesleyan was limited to single digits in the third quarter, managing just five points as Asbury pushed the lead even further.
