Asbury Women's Soccer Picked Fourth in CCS Preseason Poll
WILMORE, Ky. --- The Asbury women's soccer team was recently voted to finish fourth in the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) 2025 Preseason Poll.
The Eagles collected 46 points, predicted to finish behind Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Belhaven University. Asbury's third-year head coach and reigning CCS Coach of the Year, Zach Welch, returns Hannah Muncie (NCCAA Second Team All-American and led the team with nine goals), Anna Sparks (CCS All-Conference Second Team), and Maggie Perry (CCS All-Conference Second Team).
Asbury is following a 9-8-5 campaign and a 4-2-2 conference record, and advanced to the CCS semifinals. AU graduated eight student-athletes but returns more than 15, while also welcoming an incoming class of 10 student-athletes ready to make their mark this season.
Asbury opened the season 2-0-1, with a 0-0 draw againist Johnson University - Tennessee, a 5-0 win over Ohio Christian University, and a 6-0 win over Kentucky Christian University. As look ahead to their next match at Wittenberg University on September 6 at 7 pm.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
