WILMORE, Ky.--- Hosting the second annual Asbury Invitational at the Asbury Outdoor Venue, AU men's and women's track & field battled the cold temperatures for 12 first place finishes.

The men finished first out of nine teams in the meet, while the Eagle women's team ended the day in second place.



Women's Top Finishes:

• Ambria Mack, Kallee Cooper, Brihanna Basil, and Maggie Higdon win 4x100 with a time of 53.12
• Bailey Gassman claimed first in the 1500 meter with a time of 4:55.91
• Maggie Higdon finished second in the 100 meter hurdle at a 16.96 mark
• In the 800 meter, Brooke O'Carroll claimed first at a 2:28.86 time
• Bailey Gassmann timed at a 10:54.16 and Ava Miller at 12:01.04 to place first and second in the 3,000 meter
• Mikayla Riccio placed second in the high jump with a 1.45m mark
• Emma Groff won the pole vault at 2.59m
• Caroline Preston finished second in the triple jump at 9.53m

Men's Top Finishes:

• Wes Preston claimed first in the 1500m with a time of 4:14.82
• Austin Moreland and Lance Hylton finished at top in the 110 hurdle, Moreland at a 18.22 mark and Hylton a 20 time
• Emmanuel Dut won the 400 meter by .01 seconds at a 51.21 time
• Caleb Payne claimed second in the 100m at 11.38
• AU claimed the top four spots in the 800m, Coleman Anderson first at 2:00.90, Drew Beedle second at 2:01.67 followed by Jason Flaming's 2:03.23 and Luke Holton's 2:03.72
• Wes Preston and Dan Kersey claimed first and second in the 3000m, Preston at a 9:28.75 time and Kersey following at a 9:35.74 mark
• AU won the 4x400m at a 3:28.30 time ran by Drew Beedle, Coleman Anderson, Luke Holton, and Emmanuel Dut
• Brendan Funke finished second in the shot put at a 14.13m mark
• Jacob Edmonds won the long jump with a 5.55m jump
• Cam McElroy placed second in the pole vault event at  2.95m 
• Brendan Funke set a new school record in the hammer throw, improving his own record up to 33.43m

The Asbury track and field team will now prepare for their last regular season meet of the year on Friday at the Centre College in Danville, Ky.
