Muncie, Perry, and Steiniger Named NCCAA Second-Team All-Americans
GREENVILLE, SC.--- The National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA) announced on Thursday morning Asbury women's soccer biology major Hannah Muncie, exercise science major Maggie Perry, and a sport management major Peyton Steiniger as Second Team All-Americans.
Muncie, a senior forward from Lexington, Ky., earned her second consecutive All-American honor after finishing her career with 29 goals in four seasons. The team captain recorded a career-best 13 goals, leading the team and finishing second in the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS). Muncie tallied four game-winning goals, two assists, and 42 shots on goal across 24 matches played with 23 starts. She posted multiple goals in five matches this season.
Perry, a junior defender from Lexington, Ky., helped lead the Eagles defense with 24 starts and a team-high with 2,101 minutes played. The team captain also led AU to nine clean sheets, also contributing offensively with four goals and one assist for nine points.
Steiniger, a sophomore goalkeeper from Middletown, Oh., anchored AU's defense with nine clean sheets, and a career-high 128 saves. The goalkeeper made a season-best 18 saves in the CCS semifinals against Maryville. Steiniger finished the year with an impressive .810 save percentage, ranking fourth in the NCCAA and first in the CCS.
