Crist Two-Time CCS Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year
ATLANTA, Ga.--- Asbury cross country head coach Randy Crist was named the 2025 Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year on Friday afternoon.
Crist, in his 18th season leading the cross country program, led AU to their second consecutive CCS Conference Championship. The Eagles had three student-athletes named as 1st Team All-CCS runners (Bailey Gassmann, Emma Groff, Brooke O'Carroll), and also two runners to the 2nd Team All-CCS (Taylor Greenwell and Emma De Luc).
"Coach Crist continues to do a great job leading our cross country and track and field programs," said Asbury VP for Intercollegiate Athletics Mark Whitworth. "The women's cross country team performed beautifully in the CCS Championship and we are thrilled for him to receive Coach of the Year honors."
The 2025 season features two other first-place team finishes where the women claimed the title at the Eagle Opener on Aug. 29 and the Berea Invitational on Sept. 13. With the conference tournament win, Crist and the team will qualify to compete at the National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA) National Championship hosted in Joplin, Mo., on November 14.
