Bruner Tabbed CCS Tournament MVP; Gray and Glushchak Earn All-Tournament Team
ATLANTA, Ga.--- Asbury volleyball sophomore exercise science major Abigail Bruner was tabbed the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Tournament MVP, followed by sophomores Sara Beth Gray and Sophie Glushchak earning All-Tournament recognition.
Bruner, a Nicholasville, Ky., native, played a pivotal role in leading the Eagles to the CCS Championship. In the semifinal win over LaGrange College, she tallied five kills, three digs, and a block. Bruner then powered the Eagles in the championship match was a team-high 13 kills and two blocks. She also finished the season with 42 blocks, the second-highest total on the team.
Gray, a Lexington, Ky., native, directed the AU offense throughout the tournament. She posted a double-double in the semifinal with 25 assist and 12 digs, followed by 24 assists and six digs in the championship match. Gray recorded 294 assists on the season, ranking second on the team.
Glushchak, a Nicholasville, Ky., native, registered double-digit kills in both CCS Tournament matches, 11 against LaGrange and 10 against Maryville. She concluded the season with a team-high 44 blocks.
