Horton Earns Second Straight CCS Volleyball Coach of the Year
ATLANTA, Ga.--- For the second consecutive year, Asbury volleyball head coach Tiffany Horton was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Volleyball Coach of the Year on Tuesday Afternoon.
In her fourth year, Asbury's Tiffany Horton guided AU to a 15-1 conference record and its second straight CCS Regular Season Championship. Under Horton's direction, the Eagles have been dominant on both sides of the net; leading the conference in kills (12.33 per set) and holding opponents to a .100 hitting percentage.
"We are grateful for Coach Horton's leadership and congratulate her for being named CCS Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season. While her expertise and experience have been very impactful for our program, it is her heart for the team and continued support of our mission to use the platform of college athletics to glorify God that set her apart," said Asbury VP for Intercollegiate Athletics Mark Whitworth.
Asbury closed the regular season by winning 33 of its final 34 sets during an 11-match win streak, marking a 30-2 record in regular season play through their first two years in the conference.
They are set to host LaGrange College on Friday night at 5 PM in the semifinals. The championship will take place on Saturday at 1 PM in Wilmore, Ky.
