Asbury Celebrates NCAA Selection Show; Draw Illinois Wesleyan in Bloomington Regional
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.--- The Asbury volleyball team (22-7, 15-1 CCS) is preparing for their first NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. This historic matchup will see them face off against a No. 1 seed, the Regional host, Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU), on Thursday evening.
The game is slated for 7 pm CST, 8 pm EST, at the Bloomington, Ill., Regional. IWU's Shirk Center Arena will also be the host of the 2025 NCAA Tournament Final Four and Championship Rounds. This marks the first-ever meeting between No. 8 seed Asbury Eagles and the IWU Titans, with a chance to move on to the NCAA Tournament Region Semifinals.
The Asbury Eagles are led by back-to-back Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Coach of the Year, Tiffany Horton, in just her fourth season leading the program. AU has secured an impressive season record of 22-7 and a 15-1 conference record in CCS, highlighted by their automatic NCAA Tournament bid earned from a CCS Tournament Championship.
AU has a team built for the NCAA Tournament, including CCS Tournament MVP, Abigail Bruner, and CCS Defensive Player of the Year, Riley McChord. On the other side, the Titans of Illinois Wesleyan boast an outstanding record of 26-2 and were undefeated in their conference play at 8-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW).
