WILMORE, Ky. --- The Asbury women's basketball team (0-2, 0-0 CCS) was lead by junior elementary education major
Emily Sizemore with 25 points, but the Eagles slipped to Hanover College (3-0, 0-0 HCAC) on Thursday night in Wilmore, Ky., 85-67.
Hanover outscored AU 38-28 in the first half to take a 10-point lead into halftime. The Eagles responded with 39 second-half points, including a strong 24-point fourth quarter, but the Panthers matched with scoring 47 second-half points and 24 in the final frame.
Sizemore led Asbury with 25 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, shooting 10-19 from the field. Sophomore exercise science major
Camryn Poole added 18 points and five steals, going 7-16 from the floor.
Hanover outrebounded AU 40-34 and converted 20 second-chance points. The Panthers shot 47.8% from the field and 7-18 from three, while the Eagles finished 26-72 (36.1%) and 8-30 from deep.
Ellie Heid had eight points on two made threes, and Anna Hellums added 9 points
Hanover was led by Alexis Wines with 21 points, and Sammy Berman and Kaitlyn Lorenzi each added 18 points.
