Richmond, IND. — The Asbury Eagles barely lose to Earlham College by one point [11-12] in a high-scoring game at the Darrell Beane Stadium. The Eagles fly into Spring Break with a recoverable 0-4 record.
The pace of this high-scoring game was set early, with an even score of 4-4 after the first. Earlham tried to take control in the second quarter by scoring four goals, with Asbury answering with 2, leading the game 6-8 into half. Earlham continued scoring but only stirred up Asbury's emotions with their one goal to start the third quarter. Asbury retaliated with two goals in the third quarter. The last quarter maintained the same back and forth energy as the first, with both teams getting three goals in the other net, ending the game at 11-12.
Top Performers:
* Elsie Kopczynski held it down in-between the posts by doubling Earlhams total saves and had 14 saves for the day.
* Grad Tatro yet again established the Eagles' intentions by scoring all 5 of her goals in the first half, two of them being unassisted missions to the net.
* Hannah Biegert aided in the battle by scoring two goals in the first quarter and another in fourth in response to Earlhams attempt to end the game quietly. She also assisted a goal in the third quarter.
* Maddy Hoke & Mary Tidei played a vital role in the Eagles' valiant effort. Hoke scored two goals in the third quarter in response to Earlhams only goal. Tidei aided with the first goal in the intense fourth quarter.
* Molly Jane Ader assisted two goals in the first half & Sophia Carmody assisted the last goal of the first quarter.
