WILMORE, Ky. --- Today's gameday matchup previews are below:
Asbury at Royals Cross Country Challenge | 10/7/22 | 3:30PM | Cross Country
The Asbury men's and women's cross country teams will be competing in the Royals XC Challenge on Friday evening in Charlotte, NC. The Eagles are coming off a strong performance last weekend where the women's team officially qualified for the NCCAA Nationals, catching up to the men's team that have qualified already this season.
Earlier this week Asbury Athletics announced their Lexington Clinic Asbury Athletes of the Week, the male and female awards going to cross country runners
Tyler Chong and
Ava Miller. AU's cross country teams have continue to pick up speed this fall in every way as the teams seem to build their success week after week.
The women's 5K race will begin on Friday at 3:30 pm. Asbury's women's team is coming off maybe their most successful meet this season, led by senior
Carolina Trumpower and freshman
Ava Miller. The women's race AU will compete in will consist of over 40 schools.
The men's 8K race will begin at 4:15 with Asbury competing with over 30 schools. So far this season AU has been led on the men's side by
Will Durrance, a sophomore that transferred in this season and has done nothing but perform, taking third place in Asbury history last weekend at the men's 8K time.
Asbury at Maryville | 10/7/22 | 6PM | Men's Soccer
Men's Soccer is traveling today to Maryville, Tn., to compete against the Maryville Scots at 6 pm this evening.
This will be the first time that the Eagles and Scots will face off in program history, placing both teams eager to earn a win for their record.
It is looking to be a good match up this evening, as AU holds a current 2-5-3 record on the season, and Maryville has a record of 2-4-5.
