LAURINBURG, N.C. – It was a tough day for the Asbury University women's lacrosse team as they fell 20-7 at St. Andrews in AAC play on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles fell behind after a slow first half where they trailed 14-1. SAU led 2-1 in the opening minutes and closed the half with 12 unanswered goals.
AU played much better in the second half, but it wasn't enough to create a comeback attempt.
Asbury will travel to Brenau on Tuesday for their next contest.

Abigail Peklo each scored two goals apiece to pace the Eagles' attack.

Maddy Hoke added the Eagles' other goal for the day, while also collecting a team-high four ground balls.
*Asbury posted 20 ground balls as a team throughout the loss and won 10 draw controls.
*Curell led AU with 10 shots and four draw control victories, but the Eagles were outshot 39-27.
