WILMORE, Ky. – It was a tough evening for the Asbury University women's basketball team, as they fell short 89-82 to Midway on Senior Night at the Luce Center on Tuesday.
After the game, seniors
Autumn Herriford,
Kelsey Johnson, and
Sarah King were recognized.
With the loss, the Eagles slip to 12-5 on the year and drop just their second home game of the season and move to 7-2 in home contests.
Key Stats
* Four Eagles scored in double figures with senior
Kelsey Johnson leading the way with 22 points.

Trinity Shearer scored 15 points on 5-9 shooting, while
Jaclynn Ruble tallied 13 points and six rebounds.

Zaria Napier added 12 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.

Sarah Dennison posted seven points and recorded six rebounds. The junior also dished out two assists in the loss.

Autumn Herriford led the Eagles with nine rebounds and seven assists.

Faith Osborne each recorded points in the scoring column.
* Asbury shot 9-13 from the free throw line and 40 percent from the field on Tuesday evening.
*Additionally, Asbury produced 35 points off of the bench and dished out 18 assists.
*AU was 15-45 from three-point territory and scored 24 points in the paint.
*Midway shot 18-30 from three, including a 6-10 effort in the fourth quarter.
Highlights
* It was a back and forth first quarter, but AU was able to establish an early lead after scoring off of a couple of fast-break lay ups to help put them on the board.
* With two minutes left in the second quarter,
Faith Osborne was able to hit a three-point shot to reduce the lead of MU by one.

Trinity Shearer made a basket off a fast-break layup putting AU ahead by one at halftime, 40-39.
*In the second half, Asbury took a 63-55 late midway through the third following a three from
Jaclynn Ruble.
* Midway responded with a 10-2 run to end the period, knotting things up at 65-65 heading into the fourth.
*MU played well in the fourth quarter, as AU had a difficult time shutting down Midway's Kindall Talley, who was 6-10 from the three point line.
* Asbury led 80-79 with four minutes left but Midway would outscore the Eagles 10-2 to end the contest.
* The Eagles were unable to overcome the deficit, with MU having a fourth quarter comeback outscoring Asbury 24-17.
