LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Asbury University swimming teams opened up the 2020-21 season on a high note on Saturday afternoon at Transylvania University with decisive team wins.
The men were victorious 135-56 and the women claimed a 139-55 victory over the Pioneers.
Historically, the men remain undefeated against TU with a 5-0 head-to-head record, while the women's team improves to 5-1 all-time.
Quotable
"It was a big win to have our teams be able to compete today," said Head Coach
Alex Keyser. "Transy did a great job of setting everything up for us to compete safely. We are thankful for their coaching staff, athletic administration and athletic training staff for hosting us."
"Our guys and girls were ecstatic to be able to race today. We saw some positive pieces today, but for many of them it was shaking off the rust. A lot of our incoming swimmers had seasons canceled and many of our swimmers did not have access to pools since March. We are still getting in better shape every week and I'm really pleased with our performance today."
