Asbury Welcomes Graduate Assistants Victor Talemwa and Annie Alvarez to TeamAU!
WILMORE, Ky. — Asbury University Athletics is pleased to welcome
Victor Talemwa and
Annie Alvarez to TeamAU as the department's newest graduate assistants for the the next two academic years.
Talemwa joins the Athletics Business Operations team after earning his degree in accounting and finance from Asbury University. A former member of the Asbury men's soccer team, Talemwa competed for the Eagles from 2022-25.
In his role, Talemwa will work directly with the Athletics Business Operations team, assisting with departmental business operations and coordinating team travel.
Alvarez joins Asbury Athletics after graduating from the University of Kentucky in May 2026 with a double major in marketing and integrated strategic communications.
During her time at Kentucky, Alvarez gained extensive experience in sports marketing and communications. She spent the past two years working in marketing with Lexington Sporting Club and also served as a game-day intern with the Lexington Legends.
As a graduate assistant, Alvarez will work directly with the Athletics Communications team and oversee Asbury Athletics' digital media efforts. She will help lead the department's social media strategy, content creation and digital communications while supporting the continued growth of TeamAU's digital presence.

Matthew Johnson. "Both Victor and Annie bring in unique skill-sets to their respective departments and will be a huge part of the success of TeamAU for the next two years."
Talemwa and Alvarez will both pursue business graduate degrees at Asbury University while serving in their respective roles within athletics.
