Chick-fil-A Featured Athletes | Gehrig Galvin and Adyson Mattingly
WILMORE, Ky.--- Asbury's Chick-fil-A featured student-athletes this month
are freshman actuarial mathematics major,
Gehrig Galvin, and sophomore exercise science major,
Adyson Mattingly. These two student-athletes are standouts in both their athletics and community by highlighting the Asbury mission to serve, train, and compete for the glory of God.

What is your major and what career aspirations do you plan to pursue?
I am majoring in actuarial mathematics. My career aspiration is to become an actuary.
Why did you choose Asbury?
I chose Asbury because when I stepped foot on campus for the first time, it just felt right. I visited campus three times in total before commiting to Asbury, and each time I grew more in love. The close-net and religious community really struck me, and I wanted to be part of a community with these values.
How do you enjoy spending your time outside of athletics?
Outside of sports, I enjoy hanging out with my teammates and friends, going to the Stuce to get milkshakes, and just be outside in nature.
What have been the highlights of your experience at AU so far?
Going to the NCCAA National Tournament in Florida and getting to experience WHAM for the first time.
What is your favorite Bible verse or passage?
Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Adyson Mattingly - Women's Track & Field / Cross Country I So. I Owensboro, Ky.??
What is your major and what career aspirations do you plan to pursue?
I am majoring in Exercise Science. My career aspirations are to become a Physical Therapist.
Why did you choose Asbury?
I chose Asbury kind of on a limb because I never got a direct answer from God in my decision-making process, but after being at Asbury for about a month, the Lord had confirmed in a silly way that this is where I was supposed to be. After being here now, I love the community and Christ- centered focus that Asbury gives to all students.
How do you enjoy spending your time outside of athletics?
When I am not at practice or racing, I enjoy spending time with my friends, including the team, or just going and climbing a tree.
What have been the highlights of your experience at AU so far?
Some of my highlights at Asbury so far have been the Set Apart retreat, exploring surrounding areas, and just building new lifelong relationships.
