WILMORE, Ky. --- The Asbury softball team (13-11, 3-3 CCS) split a doubleheader on the road at Covenant College (12-18, 4-4 CCS), 8-1 and 1-0.

Game One | ASBURY 8, COVENANT 

After three scoreless innings to open the game, the Eagles broke through in the fourth inning. AU added to its lead in the sixth before erupting for four runs in the seventh.

The Eagles tallied nine hits on the day, with several players contributing key performances at the plate. Abi Thompson delivered a big pinch-hit moment, going 1-for-1 with two RBIs. Elyanna Rogers led the way with a perfect 2-for-2 performance, driving in a run and drawing two walks while scoring twice.

Samantha Bottom also had a strong showing, finishing 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Tori Giurgevich added an RBI, while Daegan Flamm and Moira Tinsley each recorded doubles to help pace the offense.

In the circle, Danielle Spiegel was dominant, tossing a complete game to earn the win. She allowed just one unearned run on six hits while striking out four and walking two across seven innings.

Game Two | COVENANT 1, ASBURY 0

In game two, Asbury was locked in a tight pitcher's duel but came up just short in a 1-0 loss to Covenant.

The Eagles were limited to three hits on the game, with Rogers, Moira Tinsley, and Giurgevich each recording one. Despite working four walks and putting runners on base, Asbury was unable to find the timely hit needed to push a run across.

Covenant broke through in the fourth inning, using a double and an RBI knock to plate the game's only run. 

In the circle, Josie Potter delivered a strong performance despite taking the loss, tossing six innings while allowing just one run on five hits and striking out three. 

Asbury threatened late, but Covenant's pitching held firm to secure the shutout and earn the split.

The Eagles looks ahead to Manchester University on Monday, April 6 in North Manchester, Ind., first pitch is set for 3:30 PM.
