Ayiei Tabbed CCS Rookie of the Week
ATLANTA, Ga. --- On Monday afternoon, the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) announced its weekly awards, highlighting freshman nursing major Lual Ayiei as the CCS Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Ayiei, a Juba South Sudan, native, continued his strong late-season play, anchoring the paint for Asbury in two conference contests. Avergaging 34 minutes per game, he totaled 21 points and 26 rebounds while shooting 47 percent from the field.
The freshman forward was particularly dominant defensively, recording 11 blocks on the week, including an eight-block performance at Maryville. Ayiei also pulled down 16 rebounds against LaGrange securing the Eagles No. 5 spot in the tournament.
