Bluegrass Orthopaedics Student-Athletes of the Week
WILMORE, Ky. --- Asbury men's cross country freshman adventure education and leadership major,
Jesse Gassmann, and volleyball sophomore accounting major,
Sophie Glushchak, have been named the Asbury Student-Athletes of the week, presented by Bluegrass Orthopaedics Sports Medicine.
Jesse Gassmann | Men's Cross Country
Gassmann, a Churchville, Pa., native, took first place at the Justin Spoon Fiercely Faithful Meet, finishing the 8K championship race in 28:53.91. His time shaved nearly a full minute (58 seconds) off his previous personal best in the 8K (five miles).
Sophie Glushchak | Volleyball
Glushchak, a Nicholasville, Ky., native, recorded a season-high 12 kills on a .321 hitting percentage in the match against Hanover. She followed that performance with 15 kills and three blocks over the weekend against Wesleyan and LaGrange.
