
EDINBURGH, Ind.--- Asbury men's golf freshman sport management major Jackson Raby and senior business administration major Garrett Sturges each finished one-over after 36 holes to tie for fifth overall out of 55 golfers, while the Eagles took third place overall against nine other teams at the SU Preview at Timbergate GCS in Edinburgh, Ind.
Asbury shot six-over as a team on day one, sitting tied with MUW for second place and trailing Spalding in first by four strokes. AU had a +12 team score in the final round, finishing at +18 for the tournament.
MUW took first place at +4 while Hendrix finished +10 for second place. AU held on to third place over Spalding University by two strokes, the Golden Eagles at +20 on the weekend.
Raby tied for the third best individual round of the final day with a 71 (-1), finishing one-over on the weekend after his 74 (+2) on day one. He collected five birdies and eight pars in the final round.
Sturges had the second-lowest round of the weekend on day one with a 69 (-3), before a 76 (+4) on day two to finish one-over overall with Raby. The senior had seven birdies with six pars during the 69 in the first day.
Sophomore Grayson Head collected a solid 73 (+1) on day two after an 80 (+8) on day one, finishing +8 to tied for 23rd overall. Sophomore Gideon Coleman shot a 78 (+6) in both rounds to place 31st while sophomore Petery Hoeppner finished 41st after a 75 and 85 (+16).
