Eagles Move to 12-1 in CCS; Sweep Agnes Scott and Belhaven in Decatur

STORY - THE ESSENTIALS
DECATUR, Ga. --- The Asbury volleyball team (17-7, 12-1 CCS) moved to 12-1 in conference play after sweeping both its Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) weekend matches at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Ga., beating Agnes Scott (0-14, 0-12 CCS), 3-0, and then Belhaven (9-17, 4-8 CCS), 3-0.

Asbury sophomore equine science major Isabelle VandeSchraaf led with 17 kills and 11 digs in the two matches, including her ninth double-double of the season with 10 kills and 11 digs against Belhaven. Julia Wright had a team-high 14 assists against Agnes Scott in game one, and followed with 12 in the second match for 26 assists on the day.

Senior captain Riley McChord led the defense with 26 digs combined, with a team-high 11 digs and eight service aces against Agnes Scott. 

AU had 69 kills in the two matches, 33 aces and 95 digs.

Match One | ASBURY 3, AGNES SCOTT 0
Asbury's offense led the way against Agnes Scott, winning the first three sets (25-3, 25-6, 25-6). 

The Eagles had 32 kills with only four errors and recorded a season-high 22 aces in the match.

Match Two | ASBURY 3, BELHAVEN 0
AU won three sets over Belhaven (25-18, 25-17, 25-23). Sara Beth Gray led the offense with 15 assists

Asbury collected 37 kills and 63 digs. The Eagles' defense held Belhaven to 54 digs.
