MARYVILLE, Tenn. --- The Asbury volleyball team (18-7, 13-1 CCS) took all three sets on Tuesday night in Maryville, Tenn., in a No. 1 and No. 2 ranked Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) dual with Maryville College (20-7, 11-3 CCS), winning their ninth straight match and 27 of their last 28 sets.
AU allowed over 20 points to Maryville in just one of the three sets, winning 25-21, 25-19, and 25-17. The Eagles have swept their previous six matches and are standing alone at No. 1 in the CCS.
Sophomore equine science major
Isabelle VandeSchraaf earned her 10th double-double of the season with a game-high 12 kills alongside 11 digs. Senior
Sidney Haysley had eight kills with 10 digs and three service aces.
Asbury used 40 total kills and held Maryville to 25 kills in the match. AU also had six service aces, 32 assists, and 54 digs as a team.
Senior
Riley McChord led all defenders with 19 digs, reaching 368 total on the season.
Julia Wright, a freshman for Asbury led the team with 14 assists, followed by
Sara Beth Gray with 12 assists. Wright now has 13 matches in her freshman year with double-digit assists.
AU is now 28-2 in conference play since joining the CCS, and has only two matches remaining in the regular season.
