DECATUR, Ga.--- Asbury women' soccer team (8-4-2, 4-1 CCS) secured a 3-0 win against Agnes Scott College (5-603, 1-4 CCS) on Saturday afternoon in Decatur, Ga., improving to 4-1 in Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) play.
AU's offense was led by sophomore media communications major
Eva De Souza scoring in the 21st minute, giving the Eagles a 1-0 going into halftime.
After halftime, the Eagles extended their lead as junior exercise science major
Maggie Perry scored in the 58th minute, off an assist from freshman
Madison Andrews. Junior
Anna Sparks sealed the win in the 79th minute, finishing a pass from
Mary Hostetter, making it 3-0 to secure the win for AU.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Peyton Steiniger recorded her fifth shutout of the season. AU outshot Agnes Scott 29-0 and holding a 14-0 advantage in corner kicks. Agnes Scott goalkeeper Olivia Rosario finished with eight saves.
The win marks AU's fourth conference victory of the season as they continue their strong run in CCS play.
