ASHEVILLE, NC.--- In a great effort, the AU women's soccer team (2-0-1) secured a resounding 6-0 victory over the Warren Wilson Owls (0-3-0) at Hank Steinbrecher Field. Taking control of the field from the start, the Eagles led 2-0 by halftime, setting the stage for a big offensive second half.

Reese Bolton, who scored the initial and game-winning goal, spearheaded the attack supported by teammates Maci Muncie, Hannah Muncie, Anna Sparks, Emily Carpenter, and Maggie Higdon who each found the back of the net in the match. Eight eagles have now found the back of the net for AU in the first three games.

Madie Boehnlein was instrumental in orchestrating the offense, while collecting her second assist of the season. The defensive line was equally impressive with goalies Maliya Crump and Violette Moore working in tandem to shut out the Owls. Crump and Moore have not allowed a goal through three games this season.

With this victory, the Eagles' season record improves to 2-0-1. Looking ahead, the team is set to face Midway University in Midway on Wednesday, September 11th at 3:30 PM as they continue their hot start.

The Eagles' robust start to the season signals promising prospects for upcoming games.
