FRANKLIN, In.--- Junior
Emma Grace Gray continued her electric season with 10 kills on Tuesday night as Asbury volleyball (5-5) slipped in a road contest with Franklin College, 0-3.
The 10-kill night for Gray gives her six double-digit kill matches on the season out of 10. She produced eight in her sophomore campaign where she led AU with 178 kills.Â
Freshman Mckenna Rumage led the Eagles with two blocks on the night.

AU was only able to hit a .009 percentage while Franklin hit .219, taking of advantage of an Asbury off-night in Franklin, In. Franklin committed 15 errors on the night wile the Eagles committed 25.Â
Despite the Eagles holding a lead in each of the three sets, Franklin used multiple large momentum-swinging runs to carry them through the match.Â

Set One
Asbury took an early 4-3 lead after multiple kills from sophomore
Megan Walden. After the short AU lead Franklin went on a 9-0 run that seemed to power them the rest of the evening. Franklin went on to win the first set, 35-14.
Set Two
After a
Lucy Kate Gray service ace, Asbury tied the game at 11-11 in the second set. Franklin went on to score the next eight of ten points, giving them a 19-13 advantage. The Eagles roared back with a three-point swing from a
Macie Pack killl and
Riley McChord service ace but Franklin once again took the set, 25-19.Â
Set Three
Emma Grace Gray and
McKenna Rumage both had kills to give Asbury a 7-6 lead in the third set. Once again Franklin responded to Asbury's slight edge with a large swing, scoring 10 of the net 13 points to go ahead 17-10.Â
AU moves to 5-5 on the 2023 season heading into a four-match weekend in Indiana.Â
