STORY - THE ESSENTIALS
CINCINNATI, Oh.--- Asbury men's and women's track and field competed in their second meet in two weeks on Saturday afternoon, placing impressive numbers in the Mount St. Joseph Invite in Cincinnati, Oh. Asbury's highlight of the day was destroying the previously held Asbury school record in the 4 x 400, taking second place overall in the event.

Freshman media communications major Davis Brown had a strong day for AU, winning the 800 event where he took his indoor school record down under two minutes (1:57.37). Sophomore Luke Wheatley was also amazing for Asbury with a sub two-minute 800 performance. Brown and Wheatley finished first and second in the event to represent Asbury very well.

Wes Preston, the NCCAA Cross Country All-Amerrican ran a fantastic mile, just missing the Asbury indoor record by 2/100 of a second (4:38.94). Preston finished fifth in the race out of over 25 runners.

Sophomore Katherine Stanley finished 13th for Asbury out of over 25 runners in the women's 800 with a time of 2:44.78.

AU competed in the men's and women's mile, the men's and women's 800, the men's 3K and the men's 4 x 400 relay.

In Asbury's first two meets of 2023 the Eagles have already set multiple school records to begin the season. The early success combined with ongoing construction of the new Outdoor Venue and head coach O'Brian Bridges continues to stir incredible excitement around the program.
