Harrodsburg, Ky.--- The asbury men's basketball team (7-1) headed down the road to compete in the Casey Sparrow Memorial Classic hosted by Campbellsville-Harrodsburg this past weekend. The Eagles faced off against Southeastern Illinois College on Friday, taking their seventh victory in a 96-68 match. AU then went on to face a new NCCAA competitor, Champion Christian College (5-6) on Saturday evening. The Eagles found their first loss of the season after impressive offensive efforts by the Tigers in a 96-82 matchup.
Game One vs Southeastern Illinois

Clayton Winter recorded his first double-double of the season with 19 points (8-10 FG) and 10 rebounds

Ben McNew matched Winter with 19 points (4-7 3PT) of his own
*
Caleb Wallis and
Dakota Walden both scored in the double digits, Wallis with 14 and Walden with 13

Aden Slone added six points and dished out seven assists

Cayden Lancaster scored eight points (4-9 FG) off the bench
* Southeasterns Amari Wales led their team with 16 points and five rebounds
Game Two vs Champion Christian

Ben McNew led AU with 21 points and recorded a season-high of five threes made (5-11 3PT)

Caleb Wallis followed close behind with 19 of his own (7-14 FG)

Clayton Winter tied his season-high of 15 boards against the Tigers and added nine points
*
Aden Slone added six points and dished out seven assists while grabbing four steals
* The Tigers were led by AJ Williams with 24 points (9-14 FG) and seven rebounds

* Asbury moves to 7-1 on the season
* Champion Christian moves to 5-6 on the season

Game One vs Southeastern Illiniois
* AU and SIC matched with 40 points in the paint from both sides
* AU shot 51% from the field and 64% from the line
* The Eagles recorded 11 threes against SIC
* SIC had 29 bench points
* Asbury forced 21 turnovers from their opponents while only giving up 12 of their own
* AU collected a season-high of 41 boards against SIC
* AU starters accounted for 71 of the team's total points
Game Two vs Champion Christian
* The Tigers picked up 33 points from the bench compared to AU's 13
* Champion Christian shot 53% in the field and 94% from the line, compared to AU's 47% and 54%
* The Eagles held a seven-point lead for the first seven minutes of the game
* CCC was quick on the counter scoring 22 points from fast breaks
* The Eagles picked up 36 points in the paint.

Asbury will continue on the road to face off against Berea College on December 11th at 12 PM.
