WILMORE, Ky.--- A 48 point first half from Asbury (6-5) proved to be enough on Tuesday afternoon as the Eagles defeated Simmons College (5-10), 77-69. AU was led by senior
Trinity Shearer who poured in a team-high 19 points and eight rebounds.

Haleigh Releford added 12 points and a tied team-high eight rebounds

Morgan Flannery posted nine points, grabbed five rebounds, and recorded a game-high three steals

Trinity Britton added a season-high nine points (3-3 3PT) and four rebounds off the bench in six minutes of play
* Simmons' Morgan Defoor and Andrea Seay led the Falcons in scoring with 16 points a piece.
* Asbury improves to 6-5 on the season
* AU hosted 200 kids at the game today for the first annual "Education Day" game
* The Eagles will travel to Simmons later in the season for another match
* Asbury shot 34% from the field and 25% from three point range
* Simmons shot 38% from the field and 28% from three
* The Falcons were able to outrebound the Eagles 48-43,
* 19 of Asbury's 43 rebounds were offensive rebounds

* AU scored 24 in back to back quarters to gather a 48-33 lead into the break
* Simmons clawed back into the game, outscoring the Eagles 19-11 in the third quarter
* The Falcons cut the AU lead all the way down to four with three minutes remaining in the fourth
* Asbury outscored Simmons 9-5 in the last three minutes to come away with a 77-69 win
