WILMORE, Ky. --- Asbury women's soccer (1-5-4) honored eight seniors on Saturday night, when they hosted Georgetown College (4-4-3) on Senior Night. Neither team was able to find the back of the net in a physical, defensive match and the score ended in 0-0.
Before the match, Asbury women's soccer celebrated eight 2023 seniors including
Caroline Absher,
Peighton Sowder,
Audrey Van Lieu,
Kennadie Pritchett,
Anna McNulty,
Isabelle Peterson,
Madie Boehnlein, and
Genevieve Hill for their contributions and influence on the program.
AU was able to get off nine shots on the night with two resulting in shots on goal (SOG). Georgetown was able to get one more shot (10) than AU did, and four were SOG. AU took eight CK on the night compared to the Tiger's five. Asbury committed seven fouls on the match while Georgetown collected nine.

Deidra Long recorded the two SOG for the Eagles.
Violette Moore had yet another outstanding performance in goal for AU with four saves. In Moore's last two games she has now only given up one goal. This was Moore's first complete clean sheet of the season in just her third start on the year.
Georgetown would get things started in the 6th minute with their first SOG that was saved by AU's
Violette Moore.
Asbury would attempt the next three shots of the match in the next 10 minutes, but were all off goal. AU came out firing early and was on the attack for the half, but could not connect for a goal.
The Tigers took the next two shots, one being saved again by
Violette Moore and the other flying out wide left. The match remained 0-0 with a good pace to the first 25 minutes of the Senior Night match.
Maci Muncie, Maggie Higdon, and
Caroline Absher all got shots off before the half ended with Absher landing a SOG that was stopped by the Tigers keeper. Things stayed knotted up at zero apiece after 45 minutes of play.
The Tigers for a second straight half got things started with a SOG in the 51st minute that collected
Violette Moore her third save of the night. Georgetown got the next two shot attempts in the 62nd and 70th minutes of play.
Deidra Long got the second on goal attmept for the Eagles on the night in the 70th minute that was saved by the Tiger's goalkeeper.
Reese Bolton would take the last shot of the night for AU, but flew out right in the 81st minute. The half would close after and the match ended the same way it started, 0-0.
Asbury hits the road Wednesday night to take on Centre College at 7 PM in Danville, Ky.

Asbury's next match will be Wednesday when they travel to Danville, Ky., to take on Centre College at 7 PM.
