WILMORE, Ky. --- The Asbury baseball team hosted MUW on Friday night for their fourth time meeting up this season. AU continued their offensive success, piling on a total of 15 runs throughout the game to take the victory over The W, 15-5.Â
Walker Paris got the ball for AU in his eleventh start of the season. Paris provided AU with 5.2 innings of work and allowed only 4 earned runs in this offensive minded game to pick up his fifth win on the year. Nate McClellan and Caleb Poll came out of the bullpen for Asbury to cover the final four outs of the game, holding MUW to 5 runs overall.
MUW got off to an early 1 run lead in the second inning on an unearned run, but it would be their only lead of the game. AU took the lead back in the bottom of the second doubled to left center to score Kaden Dugle, and Noah Brown followed to drive in Nathaniel Frank.Â
AU added in the third for their big inning on a two out 3-run blast from the bat of Kaden Dugle over the left field wall to give AU a 5-2 lead (Dugle's 3rd HR in two games). Nathaniel Frank followed Dugle's home run with a double, and was eventually driven in by Ethan Cartwright to extended the Asbury lead to 6-2.Â
In the fifth it was Ethan Cartwright finishing an extended at-bat with a 2 RBI triple to score Kaden Dugle and Kaiden Zacharias (8-2 AU).Â
From this point on the AU offense would not let up, adding 3 more in the sixth and 4 in the seventh (3-run home run from Walker Paris)Â to take the victory over MUW 15-5.Â
Asbury had now won 9 consecutive games and 24 games in the season.Â
