WILMORE, Ky. --- The Asbury baseball team hosted Berea College on Tuesday evening at Zweifel Field in Wilmore, Ky. The AU offense continued it's explosive month of April as they scored 18 runs to defeat Berea, 18-5.

Tanner McKee got the ball for Asbury in his second start of the season, and received his second win moving to 2-0. McKee struck out 2 in one inning of work and then handed the ball to Caleb Poll who provided two scoreless innings with 2 strikeouts.

The final four innings were split up to 1.0 inning a piece between David Savastio, Holten Handel, Ethan Cartwright and Josh Head. The Asbury pitching staff allowed only 3 hits on the day with 2 earned runs, striking out 6 Berea hitters.

Berea took an early 3-0 lead in the first on a key 2 RBI double, but AU would quickly bounce back in the bottom half of the inning. Kaiden Zacharias got things going on a 2-run blast (9th of the year) over the right field wall to shorten the deficit to 3-2. Ethan Cartwright then worked a walk to pass the bat to Kaden Dugle who went for a 2-run home run himself over the right field wall, his 4th of the season (4-3 AU).

Josh Head and Colton Perkins also drove in a run in the inning to finish Asbury off with 6 hits in the inning and 6 runs, taking the lead over Berea 6-3. Asbury extended their lead in the bottom of the third as they scored 5 runs on 2 hits, taking a 11-4 lead.

In the fourth it was Kaden Dugle again leading off the inning with his second home run of the game, this time a solo shot to right-center (5). The AU offense followed Dugle in the inning to score 4 more runs on 4 hits to take a comfortable 16-4 lead.

The Asbury offense scored one in the fifth and one in the sixth to get their run total to 18, taking the victory over Berea 18-5.
