ANDERSON, Ind. -- The Asbury University women's lacrosse team fell at Anderson 18-3 on Friday afternoon. AU is now 1-9 with the loss.
It was a tough day for the Eagles, who fell behind 6-0 in the first quarter and continued to trail when in the second quarter. AU finally got on the scoreboard in the second quarter.
Anderson pushed their lead out to 13-2 midway going into halftime. In the second half of the game, Anderson controlled the pace of the contest and would score five more times in the second half, while Asbury would only get one.
The Ravens kept possession for most of the game and had Asbury reeling back on defense as they lost the draw control margin 15-9.
Asbury was out-shot 33-9 and totaled 24 turnovers in the loss compared to Anderson's 12.
Elsie Kopczynski posted four saves behind the net.
Offensively for Asbury, Hannah Biegert, Sophia Carmody, and Grace Tatro each notched one goal apiece.
Katherine Ivey also provided an assist.
