STORY - THE ESSENTIALS
LANSING, Mi.--- Nick Fort scored 22 points and collected 16 rebounds as Asbury completed a late comeback for the second day in a row.

AU topped Great Lakes Christian College on their home court, 82-79, to continue their undefeated start at 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. Fort now has two double-doubles out of three games and added four assists today. Asbury continued their balanced attack with four players scoring double-digits and another scoring eight.

Clayton Winter and Caleb Wallis each added 17 points, Winter a perfect 6-6 from the field with seven rebounds. Wallis knocked down four three's with three boards and two assists. Dakota Walden was huge on the glass with 12 boards for the guard and 12 points for his first double-double on the year.

Asbury's defense turned over their opponent in the double-digits for the second straight game to give them 14 points off turnovers.

Both teams went back and forth throughout the first half until Great Lakes took a 9-3 run to take the the largest lead yet at 27-21. The neck and neck half ended with Great Lakes barely ahead holding a 45-44 lead.

Another tight half with six lead changes saw GLC take an 11-0 run giving them a eight point lead with under eight minutes to go, 68-60. For the second game in a row Asbury began to claw their way back with defensive stops and scores on the offensive end.

A 13-4 run over the next four minutes from Asbury brought them all the way to tied at 75 with under four minutes to go. The run was powered by two straight three's from the sharpshooter John Shoulders.

Three consecutive layups from Nick Fort (two) and Caleb Wallis gave Asbury the 81-77 lead they need that GLC couldn't recovered from. A late free-throw from Dakota Walden secured the 82-79 win for Asbury, giving them another comeback win to take a 3-0 start to the year.
