LEXINGTON, Ky.--- Asbury University men's and women's swimming competed in their second meet of the season on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles were hosted by the Transylvania Pioneers. AU has shown their depth right off the bat early in the season, as they took the victory over Transy 233-220.

The men's and women's teams each split in their meet with Transylvania.
The women's team edged out the Pioneers 128-92, while the men's team fell by a small margin of 105-128.
 

The Eagles demonstrated their variety of talent on the team, taking first in the Men's and Women's 400 Medley Relay as well as in the Men's and Women's 400 Freestyle Relay. AU captured 4 relay wins and 12 individual wins on the day.


Women's Key Results

For the women's team, it was freshman Sarah Finlayson who led AU in a 1-2-3 sweep during the 1000 Freestyle.
Four year swimmer, senior Lille Lewis, placed first in the 200 IM and 200 Breaststroke, in which she led a 1-2 finish for the Eagles.
Amber Schulte, a junior for AU dominated in two events; the 200 Freestlye and 500 Freestyle in which she led a 1-2 finish.
Participating in her second year of competition for the Eagles, Alivia Williams led a 1-2-3 sweep in the 200 Butterfly.
Freshman Emme Johnson placed first in the 200 backstroke.
 

Men's Key Results

For the men's team, senior captain Eli O'Connor took first place in both the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Freestyle.
Another captain for the men's team, Tommy Johnson, placed first in the 200 Freestyle.
Senior Haden Hebenstreit found first in the 200 Backstroke.
Junior Ian Wang led a 1-2 finish in the 200 Breaststroke.

The Eagles will continue their long stretch of meets on the road as they next travel to Barbourville, Ky., on October 28. AU will compete with Union College at 5 pm for the third meet of the 2022-23 season.
