OAKLAND CITY, Ind. – The Asbury University softball team dropped its final two games of the regular season on Sunday afternoon at Oakland City in River States Conference play.
The Eagles fell 8-6 in game one and dropped game two by a score of 8-2. Asbury moves to 19-29 overall and concludes the regular season with a record of 11-15 in league play.
Game one
*With the game tied at 2-2 heading into the bottom of the third, OCU tacked on four runs to take a 6-2 advantage.
*Back-to-back home runs from AU in the fourth cut the lead down to 6-5 after a two-run HR from
Harley Wagoner and a solo homer from
Taylor Enlow.
*Enlow hit another homer in the sixth to cut the lead down to 8-6, but it would mark the final run of the game for Asbury. Enlow leads AU with eight home runs this season and a team-best 58 hits and is currently on a seven-game hitting streak, also a team-high.
*The Eagles stranded 10 runners on base in the loss and compiled 12 altogether as a team.
*Enlow led AU with a 3-4 effort at the plate with two RBI, as Wagoner and
Bree Sanders each tacked on two hits apiece.
Game two
*The Eagles scored first in the top of the second off an RBI single from
Jenni Beasley. However, Oakland City would score seven unanswered runs including five in the fourth to take a commanding 7-1 lead.

Harley Wagoner's RBI single scored the Eagles' only other run of the contest in the sixth inning.
*Wagoner connected on three hits in game two to lead AU's offense, while
Taylor Enlow,
Bree Sanders, and
Abby Fletcher all collected multi-hit games with two hits each.

McKenzie Meyer got the start in the circle and lasted 3.2 innings, as Enlow pitched the remainder of the game in relief, striking out one.
