MONTREAT, N.C. – The Asbury University women's lacrosse team won its first postseason game in program history on Thursday afternoon as the Eagles were victorious over Truett McConnell University 19-11 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinals.
Asbury improves to 6-7 on the year, matching a program-best in win totals. AU advances on to the AAC Tournament semifinals on Friday afternoon at 1 PM against top seed Reinhardt.
Quotable
"We knew this was a team that we would need to play the full 60 game minutes for," said Head Coach
Nicki Stewart. "That was our team quote for this year-full 60 minutes. These young women have stood on the shoulders of players who have built this program up over the past seven years and have continued to push it further. I am so proud of them and so glad to be headed on to round two!"
