WILMORE, Ky. -- The Asbury University women's lacrosse rolled past Breanu University on Monday afternoon in the AAC play in its 2021 regular season finale.
Asbury finishes the regular season with the record of 5-7. AU will go on and play in the conference tournament for the first time in program history.
AU will play against Truett McConnell at 1 PM in round one at Montreat, North Carolina.
Highlights
* Asbury got things going right off the bat when
Ashley Byrd scored the first goal within a minute.
* Offensively AU continued to dominate the first half scoring 13 more goals.
*The Eagles defense kept Brenau from closing the lead as they only allowed 11 shots on goal in the contest.
* In the second half AU continued to keep possession of the game and only allowed Breanu to score one goal.

Aubrey Curell collected stats in each column, having six goals, 10 shots, one ground ball, and seven draw controls.

Hannah Biegert got on the scoreboard with three goals, while also recording three ground balls and eight shots on goal.
