Women's Lacrosse Edged in Final Minute at Truett McConnell

CLEVELAND, Ga. – The Asbury University women's lacrosse team fell in the final seconds at Truett McConnell by a score of 18-17 on Saturday afternoon in Appalachian Athletic Conference play.

The Eagles led 17-15 with two minutes to play, but TMU would score three unanswered goals to close out the game.

With the loss, Asbury falls to 1-3 on the season. AU will return to action at home on Wednesday against Tennessee Weselyan at 4 PM.

Key Stats
*Mia Doron had a big day for the Eagles, earning a team-best 10 draw control wins, scoring five goals with six shots landing on-goal and two ground balls.
*Aubrey Curell also added five goals and a team-high three assists. Curell notched eight total points with four ground balls, three caused turnovers, and four draw control wins.
*Ashley Byrd scored four goals with six shots on-goal.
*Asbury collected 20 ground balls as team but committed 23 turnovers in the loss.
*TMU outshot AU by a margin of 42-31.
* Gracie Jernagin, Grace Tatro, and Hannah Biegert each scored a goal apiece for Asbury.
