Baseball Moves to 3-0, Roll Past Trinity International 18-0

HOOVER, Ala. – The Asbury University baseball team won its third straight game at the Score International Invitational with a dominating 18-0 win over Trinity International on Saturday.

Game two of the doubleheader was cancelled due to weather but the Eagles will return to Wilmore with a perfect 3-0 record.

Asbury will travel to Lindsey Wilson on Tuesday afternoon for their next game at 3:30 PM CST.

Key Stats
*Tyler Morrison got the win on the mound, pitching five shutout innings as he allowed only two hits and struck out five.
*Asbury's bats were led by Kaiden Zacharias, who recorded two triples on the day and brought in a team-high four RBI.
*Walker Paris had another strong performance at the plate as he posted this third multi-hit game of the year and brought in three RBI. Paris has collected seven RBI through the first three games of the season.
*Paul Haupt and Matt Johnson both tallied two hits each. Haupt also scored two runs and collected two RBI.
*Asbury finished with 10 hits, 15 RBI, and drew 12 walks altogether on Saturday afternoon.

Highlights  
*After a scoreless first inning, Asbury scored nine runs in the top of the second. The Eagles scored all nine runs in the inning with two outs.
*Trevor Campbell's RBI single scored Johnson for the first run of the day.
*Haupt then hit a two-RBI double to center and Paris connected on a two-RBI single on a line-drive to center making it a 5-0 game.
*Zacharias then smacked a two RBI triple to right, followed by an RBI single from Johnson. The final run of the inning was scored by Dalton Nunley on a wild pitch.
*Asbury would score three more runs in the third and then six more runs in the fifth as they rolled ahead 18-0.
